F1 Golden Doodle

The 1 in F1 stands for "First Generation" Goldendoodle. The F stands for filial which means it is a mix of breeds. It is the mix between a purebred Golden Retriever and a purebred poodle.

This is the best way to preserve the Golden Retriever's looks and personality while adding some wave with less shed than a standard Golden Retriever.

They still have some shed and are not fully hypo-allergenic. They make great family dogs that are easy to train and very interactive.

F1B Golden Doodle

F1B is almost the same as an F1, except for the B. The B stands for backcross. This means an F1 dog, in this case an F1 Golden Doodle, is bred with a purebred parent breed (poodle).

This makes our F1B Golden Doodles 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. Because they are mostly poodle, they have a much higher chance of a curly coat and non-shedding and hypo-allergenic capabilities. Because they are not a 50/50 mix, they are known to have less "hybrid vigor" than F1's, which is the improved health and energy of mixed breeds.

Although they have a little less of the Golden Retriever traits, they still make wonderful family dogs and are usually the preferred type of Golden Doodle for families and breeders.
